Data & Insight Analyst

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Data & Insight Analyst to join the Marketing team at Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment – part of Trinity Mirror plc, the UK’s largest multi-media publisher. Our portfolio includes 3 specialist job sites, GAAPweb (accountancy and finance), TotallyLegal (law) and SecsintheCity (PAs and EAs), and Fish4jobs, the job site of Trinity Mirror’s network of regional and national news brands.

This is a new role created to work with the Data & Insight Manager across a range of analytical and reporting responsibilities,with a strong emphasis on driving our acquisition and retention strategies. You’ll also be heavily involved in ensuring the ongoing improvement in performance of all TMDR job sites across marketing channels and devices.

Role Responsibility

  • Complete all daily, weekly and monthly reporting duties&identify highlights/lowlights
  • Support optimisation of key marketing channels – particularly PPC, SEO and Aggregators
  • Working with the product team on the implementation of A/B testing software, to improve user experience and measure results
  • Work with wider marketing team to ensure accurate site and campaign tracking
  • Support sales teams with ad hoc data requests
  • Provide support on large data-based projects
  • Use SQL to provide insight on inventory and performance
  • Use multiple data sources to produce client reports
  • Collect and analyse data related to the performance of products
  • Day to day monitoring of site traffic from all sources
  • Production of presentations and data visualisations

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree educated in a mathematical/scientific subject
  • Experience of working with web analytics and marketing data
  • Expert understanding of Google Analytics to measure campaign and site performance
  • Understanding of SEO and PPC, including familiarity with Google AdWords
  • Familiarity with programming languages, particularly SQL, HTML and XML
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate trends in data
  • Experience using Tableau to present data
  • Experience implementing and using A/B testing software
  • A quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Interest in data and how it is used in business to influence decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
