Digital Producer, Newcastle (Part Time)
We are recruiting a Digital Producer to join the ChronicleLive newsroom in Newcastle.
The purpose of the job is to provide support for the digital publishing of content written by our news, sport, what’s on and business teams. The job is a part-time role covering the hours of 6.00pm to 10.00pm on weekdays.
Trinity Mirror plc, with an award-winning portfolio of newspapers, websites and digital products, is one of the UK’s largest multimedia companies employing more than 6,000 people across 60-plus locations around the country.
Trusted, relevant, reliable and essential on social, mobile, desktop and in print, our loyal readers and advertisers are attracted by the knowledge, insight and vital services that our iconic brands (the Chronicle, Journal and Sunday Sun in the North East, and the Daily Mirror nationally, to name just a few) provide.
This is a role which involves specialist enhancing, finessing, developing and packaging of content for publication on our responsive website and app.
You’ll be cropping and uploading pictures, editing video/audio, ensuring content is properly formatted, tagged and optimised for search, and publishing it quickly and accurately as part of a dynamic digital content team.
It’s fast-paced, exciting and no two shifts will be the same: one minute you could be creating a picture gallery of a rock star’s latest tour and the next editing video from a crime scene.
The Ideal Candidate
You will possess excellent attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to think on your feet. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working with digital content management systems.
You’ll need a deep understanding of search engine optimisation and good knowledge of how content is promoted effectively through social media.
Ideally, you’ll also be comfortable editing video and audio, manipulating and editing images, and doing basic HTML coding. You’ll also be well suited to working quickly under deadline pressure.
This is a non-writing role although we will consider candidates with journalism qualifications.
