Interactive Content Editor

Do you want the chance to build and lead a team to work on engaging, interactive content for a mass audience?  Then read on...

We have partnered with Playbuzz to use their platform to create interactive stories - quizzes, lists, videos, polls and other simple, engaging formats.

We’re looking for someone to help hire and then lead a team of four people to create this content and publish it on the Mirror and our regional titles - ensuring that we hit our UK page-view targets for this content.

We’re looking for someone who can help the team come up with content using Playbuzz that will be: successful on social; have long-lasting, evergreen appeal; or be a fresh, engaging take on trending news. You’ll lead by example with your own content creation.

You should also understand analytics and how to use it to decide what is and isn’t successful. And you should have good people skills to make sure your team works well alongside other teams covering the same broad areas.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensuring that we hit our page view targets for these types of content - both your own and the team’s targets.

  • Creating great content so that you lead by example.

  • Managing a team of 4.

  • Using analytics to report on what is and isn’t working, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You could be working anywhere in digital media as long as you’ve got the right skills and experience of creating engaging content that delivers a large audience.

  • You must have experience of being responsible for publishing of a section or site. Line management experience is desirable. You might, for instance, have been editor or deputy of a site section or been responsible for editing others’ work.

  • You must also have an awareness of legal issues around libel and privacy.

  • You’ll be adept at social media and know what works and what doesn’t on Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also know how to spot and jump on a trending search term.

  • Some weekend and shift working may be required around big events
