We’re looking for an experienced digital journalist to spearhead our coverage of Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Live is a new website and social media offering that aims to showcase life in the county and share the stories that need telling.
We need someone to manage the website by curating the latest news, what’s on and sport in Staffordshire from other regional Trinity Mirror websites which, together, provide comprehensive coverage of the county.
Location: Flexible across the Midlands, we have offices in Birmingham, Stoke, Tamworth, Burton, Derby and this role will involve travel across a number of centres.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be a content editor, or senior journalist, able to make good decisions over how to maximise the audience to our Staffordshire stories. You will also have up-to-date knowledge of digital publishing best practice, while being comfortable programmes such as Chartbeat and Google Analytics.
You will also work closely with other regional centres to create unique Staffordshire content that appeals to your audience.
It’s a new product and a new way of working. So we need someone with fresh ideas on how to get the most out of the content at your disposal and tell great stories digitally.
You will be a creative thinker and eager to experiment not only with what stories we tell but how we tell them, as well as being able to take ownership of such an innovative website and mold it into a compelling experience for our readers.
As well as ensuring copy is accurate, timely and legally compliant, you’ll be deciding what we throw Staffordshire Live’s weight behind to amplify what’s happening in the region and engage with our audience.
You’ll love Staffordshire and everything about it, while at the same time being there to cast a critical eye over what can always be improved in the county you love.
A driving licence is essential to be considered for this role.
