Trinity Mirror Regionals is seeing phenomenal growth in video views across its regional titles and we need you to help us take it to the next level.
We’re looking for someone to tell compelling stories across our regional titles from the Birmingham Mail, Manchester Evening News to the Grimsby Telegraph and Bristol Post.
To take us to the next level, we’re looking for someone who can tell compelling, emotive and thought-provoking stories through video.
You don’t need to be a documentary-maker but you do need to be able to edit video in a way that really makes people think.
If you know a good story when you see one, if you can construct video in ways that make people laugh, cry and inform them, and if you have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, you’ll have a brilliant opportunity to transform the way we tell stories - and be part of a fantastic team.
You’ll have the editing skills and instinct to be able to transform raw footage into great stories that people really want to watch and share - and you’ll make them look great too.
You’ll be adept at social media and know what works and what doesnât on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms. You’ll be able to search these to spot video opportunities and find opportunities of your own through brilliant, creative ideas.
You must have advanced editing skills and strong knowledge of After Effects and other Adobe Creative Suite software is preferred - but also the journalistic eye for a good story and be able to provide strong copy to ensure your video competes on social media and in search, as well as standing on its own on our sites.
The Ideal Candidate
You could be working anywhere in digital media as long as you’ve got the right skills to create compelling video together with passion and drive.
You must have an awareness of legal issues around filming and editing. You’ll be able to work on videos from inception to creation.
A driving licence is preferred and you must have a flexible approach to shifts. You’ll be based in Birmingham but working for our regional titles across the UK, so some travel to different locations may be needed from time to time.
