Trainee Multimedia Journalist
The Daily Post is looking for a trainee journalist to join its multimedia newsroom. You will be working for a fast-growing website in a digital-first newsroom that also produces a strong and popular print product across two editions, six days a week.
We need someone who has some journalism qualifications on their CV and can create compelling, targeted content that drives outstanding engagement, both digitally and in the newspaper.
You will play a full part in growing our audiences online and in print by delivering high quality, thoroughly researched, accurate and well-written multimedia content packages on a daily basis to agreed deadlines, while being compliant with the law and the Editors’ code of practice regulated by IPSO.
The right candidate will also be able to provide coverage of news events for live blogs and breaking news, as and when required, and be comfortable communicating via video, audio and pictures.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will understand the importance of SEO, social media and video; have journalism qualifications; the ability to communicate well with people and communities; and the flexibility and determination to adapt to an ever-changing industry.
You will receive appropriate training with a view to taking Trinity Mirror’s nationally recognised Certificate of Journalism within 18 months.
