Can you play a key role in developing the video output for Manchester Evening News - one of the largest regional news website in the UK? 


Videos on the Manchester Evening News website are watched more than  three  million times a month and millions more through social media. 


To take us to the next level, we’re looking for someone who can tell compelling, emotive and thought-provoking stories through video.

You’ll be a qualified journalist with up-to-date media law, and will need proven experience of telling stories through high-quality video.


You could be working anywhere in digital media as long as you’ve got the right skills to create compelling video together with passion and drive. 


You must have an awareness of legal issues around filming and editing. You’ll be able to work on videos from inception to creation. You will be confident and experienced in filming on smartphone and larger video cameras or at least able to learn very quickly. You will also have editing skills across industry recognised video editing software.


A driving licence is preferred and you must have a flexible approach to shifts. 



What you'll  be doing

  • Working across our news and what’s on teams, you’ll create create compelling, original, shareable video-led stories.
  • You’ll be adept at social media and know what works and what doesn’t on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms.
  • You’ll be able to search these to spot video opportunities and find opportunities of your own through brilliant, creative ideas.
  • You’ll be equally confident in front and behind the camera. Knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite software is preferred.
